Hi. The Linksys MR8300 can cover up to 2000 sq. ft.

2000 sq ft claimed. Sounds great. BUT, the area of a circle is pi * R squared. So 2000 / pi is about 637, and the square root of 637 is barely over 25 ft. So you are good to go within 25 feet of the router if there are no interfering walls, etc. Linear distance doesn't sound so great compared to square feet, that's why marketing pushes square feet figuring nobody will do the reality check. Don't trash LinkSys, this is true of ALL WiFi makers. It is also why so very many people NEED a mesh system like this one to get decent signal throughout a house.
