• You don’t need an app but need a computer. Call Linksys tech support and they will walk you thru the set up.

• Hi. Setting up the Linksys Tri-Band Mesh WiFi 5 Router, MR8300 is made easy using the Linksys app and it's a requirement. However, you could also set up the router through the web interface as shown in this link: https://www.linksys.com/support-article?articleNum=316709.
