Get a range extender made by the same company who manufactures your router. The design their products to work together or you can get a 200 dollar router like one of the Netgear Nighthawk series. That will fix it you you have no other issues that you did not mention.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I extended my wifi signal with very little loss. Most wifi extenders amplify a wireless signal with quite a loss receiving and retransmitting a less than ideal signal. There is a better way that I found that worked for me. A power line adapter with built in wifi. You plug it directly into the main router and the adapter goes into the nearest plug transmitting the signal over your homes electrical line to another adapter plugged in near the weak area in the house that has a wifi router in it. You're using a full signal from the router with no wifi loss. Sometimes there is a loss in your homes electrical wiring, try several plugs and do a speed test. I have only a 2mb loss out of 50. Best Buy has this one that I used on sale now for $49.99 from TP-link, model TLWPA4220K. When you set it up use the same name as your wifi and password and your device will see it as your normal wifi and lock onto the best signal without changing wifi names. This is how I set it up in a long house. You can watch the wifi signal drop off a little on the display and then reconnect to the extender in 1 or 2 seconds at full signal with no interruption if you move around the house. I use it for my iPhone, iPad, and Macbook throughout the house with very good results. My Netflix does not stop to buffer.
