A little hard to setup but does the job

There wasn't any instruction in the box other than a card saying insert the CD and run the installation software. I followed the instruction in the installation software, and it detected my extender and freezes when trying to configure it. I ended up connecting it directly to my computer with a CAT5 cable and manually setting it up by going to 192.168.1.1. I think the problem with the installation software was that my router is not from Linksys, so it was on a different default subnet which was at 192.168.10.1.
Once it's setup, it does the job. It's not choppy when I view videos on YouTube in a room far away from my router.
The extender doesn't block the whole electric outlet, which is nice. I plugged it in on the bottom plug and am still able to use the top plug of the outlet.

The linksys wireless N extender works great for large homes that need a little extra oomph. This product has worked well for our house; the office is on the opposite side of the house and upstairs and the internet was painfully slow- this has made the office internet as fast as the rest of the house.

Does what it says. Setup was relatively easy. Doubled my speed. Unsure how far the extender reaches, but it easily reaches everywhere in my 2 story house. Rooster is upstairs, and the extender is located downstairs. Works well from what I can tell. I also used this at another house and observed the signal strength go from a 2 to a 5.

I have used this for a few months now. It was easy to set up and works pretty good. About once a month I have to unplug it and plug it back in to reset it.

Hi, Aeriojunkie,
We're happy to hear your feedback that the device is easy to set up and works pretty good. However, we're curious about the unplugging and resetting it once a month. Have you been experiencing intermittent connection to both wired and wireless devices? Mind sharing us more details about it for further isolation? You may reach out to us via email at [email protected] along with your contact details and the link to this post.

I bought this booster to stretch my wifi signal so I can use my tablet in the back yard while people are swimming. It works great. It also improved the signal strength in the entire house. It was easy to set up and definitely worth the money. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a wifi boost in their home/office.

Immediately after setup I noticed improved signal strength. The unit worked well with all of the devices for about a month. For some reason my HP 8600 wireless printer started having problems. When I ran the printer status report I found out the problem. The printer was detecting two routers with the same ssid. I couldn't find a work around so ended up returning the device. Had the printer had a work around I would have the router.

There's not much that I can say about this extender other than the fact that it seemed to have no discernible effect on the coverage of wireless signal in the house. Furthermore, the installation process without a computer (ie via tablet) is a bit buggy and not quite as simple as you'd hope out of a relatively basic product. Due to the fact that I personally returned mine after using it for 2 days without any visible improvement on wifi coverage, I'm on the wire as to whether this product is worth recommending or not. However, due to the odd construction of the house, and the relatively poor quality of the router we were working with at the the time, I can't be sure that this product won't work for you. So, with the above caveat, get it if you think this might work for you and make sure you stay within your return window while testing it in case you come to the same conclusion that I did.
All of that being said, I would instead suggest just getting a higher quality router. Most high-end N-band and most AC-band routers now-a-days have exceptional range and data transfer rates. For the price of this product and an additional $30, you won't only get better coverage, but you'll probably see significantly less signal degradation around the house as well. Remember, an extender doesn't make your signal magically renew itself, it simply amplifies the signal that it is receiving (sort of). So, in essence, if it's already receiving a bad signal, it will only boost the range of said signal, not make it any better - a good router would solve a lot of these issues.
*This suggestion is based on the fact that you might be working with a service provider's low end router or one you have been knocking dust off for years. If you've recently upgraded to a good N-band or AC-band router and you still aren't getting the coverage, then maybe this product could be for you*.
I hope this helped, and best of luck finding what you need.

Selected this product despite mediocre results with an earlier generation of extender from Linksys. Pulled it out of the box, plugged it in, and coordinated the network and was done. Strong signal throughout the house (plus speed) that simply wasn't there before.

With my router now in a central location in the den (see my review on cable) I was still having an issue with wireless connectivity outside and in my garage. This made it work. I can now get wifi outside so no more charges to the data plan when I'm in the backyard. Easy to install and that's good since I'm not at all techy.

I bought this product a few weeks ago and it has exceeded my expectations. I was looking for an inexpensive WI-FI extender for my laptop when used in my basement. Very simple to set up and it works to my liking. I am very pleased.

Bought this product to help extend the range of our WiFi so that we can get a better signal while sitting on our front porch. Our router is located upstairs, in the landing / loft area. Pretty much in the center of our home. I set up the extender at the bottom of our stairs, on the first floor, in a wall outlet close to our front door / porch area. We instantly began getting a full-strength signal while sitting on our porch when we previously could only get very low or no signal. Worked (for us) exactly as advertised and we couldn't be happier with the performance.

This wireless extender works just as good as the higher price ones. I was able to get a great signal outside around the pool that my router could not give me. Very easy to set up.

I was skeptical as to whether the product would actually improve the wireless signal received in the basement (man cave) of my home. At the price it was worth a try and was pleasantly surprised with the improvement!
