• It does, much like majority of other smart covers you'll find. The case cover itself that you fold over to go ahead and cover the screen has a magnet in it that will act as your sleep and wake feature.

• YES. The iPad Pro will go to "Sleep Mode" when you close the cover and "Wake Up" when you open the cover. Very happy with this case, tried at least a dozen others and this was my favorite, adds very little extra weight to the iPad. If you have the Apple iPencil I would recommend the Speck StyleFolio case with the built-in pencil holder, holds pencil snugly inside case instead of outside. The Speck case is also sold by BestBuy.
