Traditional mouses have to be lifted and positioned, but with a trackball you have more versatility on the screen. I love it! and this type of mouse I use with all 4 of my devices. I have one for each device. Try it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Correct. It's a trackball; the device measures movement (and translates that to move the on-screen cursor), by bouncing a light off the ball. Moving the entire device (while keeping the ball from moving) will do nothing on-screen. Hence, the name "trackball". I've been using trackballs (all Logitech) for the last 30 years and find using a mouse "strange". Given the amount of time I've used computers, I believe using a trackball has prevented me from an RSI, such as carpal tunnel syndrome. It takes getting used to - I won't deny that - but I find it worth the effort. YMMV.
