It works on my Apple TV. When you add the device, for the model number type Apple TV. It won't work if you use the correct model number listed on your receipt.

Yes. In fact, it will probably detect the 4th Gen AppleTV connected to your home wi-fi network. In my case, I have more than one and had to indicate which was the one in my theater room and select it to be controlled along with the TV, amp, DirecT genie, lights, etc., in that room.

This is a universal remote, so it will be compatible.
