This is an infrared remote. It is a line of sight remote. So no, it does not solve the problem you are trying to solve. Contact logitech, they have great tech support, there may be a solution for your current remote.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't know how you change the channels when watching tv.. the remote says you need to be pointing at the device. We change channels on our cable box so it would have to be in the same room.
