I don't have AT&T, however I did set this remote up to do all functions on a Comcast cable box. Works great.

You can also manually program button functions of AT&T remote to the universal remote if need be. This remote has DVR button, pause button, mute button, back button, etc. Will work with all cable and satellite boxes.
