• This remote uses RF, Bluetooth, and IR. My components are kept in a closet. They respond to the hub and IR blasters. My TV is controlled by the IR that emanates from the front of the remote control. I had the same concern initially. It's a pain to set up. But, once you get it done, the remote does work.

• Yes. The remote also has IR as I need this to manage my sound bar.
