• Hubs are for better device control like turning on the TV, the receiver, setting the input, turning on hue lights, adjusting thermostat, all at the touch of a button or by asking Google home or Alexa to trigger the event, however I don't think you can pause or control volume, the triggers are presets that you program ahead of time to activate multiple actions in one event.

• no I don't think so. I've had mine a couple wks it turn device on and off and some basic functions for the device. the setup I've got now is "Alexa" turn on curve which turns on TV, DirecTV box, audio rec. and hue color light. I see dish works with Alexa now so direct shouldn't be far behind.The app has remotes for each device that has all functions
