• Yes, it does control everything...your cable box, DVR recordings, FF, REW, Pause, I truly don't have to use the other 5 remotes....Cable, Blu Disc, Stereo, TV, and X-box. Very easy to program because the tutorial will take you through each component.

• As opposed to doing what?! Lol! Yes, it'ss a universal remote that will control all of your components in one...that actually works all commands on all of them (at least I haven't had anything yet it doesn't work and we have/have had a slew of components), no more needing a handful of remotes on hand and it can be programmed to do all kinds of commands, batch series of commands, etc. Highly recommend the Harmony Touch 15!

• Most cable boxes are able to be controlled by Harmony remotes. You just have to check the manufacturer of the cable box.

• I can't say for sure about yours, but my DirecTV box, Sound Box and Sharp TV are ALL controlled by this remote.

• It should. I have DirecTV and it controls it with no problem. Just need to enter which cable company you have.

• Need to know the model of your cable box but it controls all DVR/Cable boxes that I have encountered. You can visit the Logitech website @ myharmony.com to make absolutely sure.
