Does this remote work without the hub null

Yes. It works without a hub. I have just the remote and use it for controlling my entertainment systems.

I’m sure it does. The hub has IR extenders to power on other units like stereo, DVR etc. I can change channels on the other side of my house! I don’t know the difference yet the one without does because it’s a gift for my mom. It’s a great remote though. I’d get the hub if you are on the fence about it, especially if you have to power on several things at once. I actually have an HDMI to Cat6 to HDMI converter or a switch going to my bedroom & can run my DVR in there flawlessly, from the living room!
