Yes, it can use any button you add as a commend as {ie: sleep, edit, menu. you have to go into your computer to set it all up, once you add your device it will give you the option to change commands/buttons on the remote.

It appears there are as many pages as needed to cover all of the original remote commands for each device. You simply swipe between pages on the touch screen. Having the touchscreen gives much flexibility to including all the device commands without running out of room.

Some of my devices have a single page, others have multiple pages. If you run the app on a tablet it gets most of the functions on just one page. Thus far I have not needed to program ANY additional functions for my devices.

The touchscreen is for general commands such as "Watch TV" and number selection that has a separate "page" or screen.
