First... infrared does NOT go thru walls...RF does. This does not have RF

Hub inside cabinet receives RF from remote then relays to the particular IR receiver for a device. You have to have one HUB for the whole system plus an IR Blaster for each device you want to . So YES you can control devices inside a wooden cabinet.
