“Is this keyboard plug and play or does it require to download software for it to work. That would be a deal breaker for me because it's for my work laptop and I am not authorized to install anything whatsoever. Plug and play and I am good to go. Thanks!”

In order to get the full functionality out of the keyboard you would need the software, which allows you to configure options on the keyboard. It would work without the software but you won't be able to use the options which make this keyboard unique and more useful.
