Can this be used with a laptop? null

An external keyboard can be used as with any mouse that has a usb port either 2.0 or 3.0 you will also need a usb port for the mouse, but you just plug them in, for the wired and wireless ones. So you will need at lest one but probably 2 usb ports. Just set they keyboard on top of laptop keyboard or put in your lap or in front of laptop and type away

Absolutely. You must have an available USB port for the wireless receiver block. I use this wireless keyboard and a wireless trackball mouse (Logitech M570) on three of my laptop setups. Highly recommend.
