Why doesn't the light go on the mouse? null

it only comes on when you wake it from sleeping (sleeping is how it gets you 2 years of battery life)

The light on the bottom. It should when you put in the batteries

laser is invisible, the old mice used led, which you could see the red light.

Depends on what light you are referring to. The LED on the top only lights up when you turn it on and when the batteries are getting weak. There is on optical LED on the bottom, much the way an Apple mouse works. On the bottom of the mouse next to the optics opening is etched 'Invisible Optics' meaning no visible light will shine out of the bottom.
