not to my knowledge, when i installed the wireless mouse, it overrode the touch pad, but the function of the touch pad was still there
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a common problem with that model Right click on the open space of the desk top > Personalize > Mouse Pointers (yes, mouse Pointers ) > click the red pointer to change touchpad settings > Button settings > disable both Touchpad and Touchpad buttons > OK If after disabling it you have a different problem with your mouse driver if it continues
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes , I use mine on my HP Pavilion. I didn't like the touch pSd so I picked up this mouse.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can diable touchpad and use any mouse. Chances are you're having a driver issue with the touchpad. Alternatively, you could check with Dell on updated drivers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it will work and you will not have to disable the touchpad. It will work with Windows 7 and 8. I do not know about earlier versions of Windows.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You should be able to put the unifying receiver in a USB port and use the mouse without having to disable anything. if the whole computer freezes after 30 minutes then you might have a bigger problem than a faulty track pad.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've been using a wireless mouse (and keyboard) with my laptop for quite a while. I did not need to disable the touch-pad - just plugged it in and it worked. No idea whether the freeze-up problem you are having will affect the wireless mouse, but I would give it a try.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sure, if the freezing is because of the trackpad it would help ...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If the issue is just with the touchpad, then in theory using an external input device (ie - M510 mouse) would solve your problem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.most likely not, but is not guaranteed. I would find a mouse to borrow to test this out first before buying. You can always buy something and return it to :)
