I found this out the hard way. You cannot cross logi (non unifying devices) with Logitech unifying devices unless you use two dongles. My laptop only has one USB port and why would I want to tie up both USB ports with two dongles anyway. Logi keyboard and mouse sets only come with small mouse and not unifying capability so I had to purchase wireless keyboard and wireless full size mouse separately so I only need one dongle.
