That is up to the user; some laptop users prefer to use the built-in touchpad, some use the little "joystick" in the middle of at least some Dell laptops, but a mouse or trackball is preferred by others. So, it depends on what you prefer. With a Bluetooth mouse and newer Bluetooth laptop, you do not need to plug a USB dongle into a USB port on the laptop, which is great.
