“Does this connect via the ipad connector or via bluetooth”

Bluetooth only. After the one time set-up, it will re-connect automatically every time the case magnetically connects to the keyboard base.

The key board I have connects via blue tooth. It uses the same charger as my iPad Pro.

My keyboard is connected via Bluetooth; I went into Settings, Bluetooth and my iPad detected the presence of the keyboard, and I chose “Connect”.
