- Answer Neither, JD: when you have a bridge installed, it operates on its own proprietary wireless network apart from your broadband Wi-Fi. Without the bridge, however, this is essentially a “dumb” switch.

QuestionI have 12 ceiling light bulbs controlled by 3 different switches, one switch is a dimmer, the other two just on/off and one of those is hardly used. Does it matter which switch is replaced w/ this one and what happens if I leave 2 old switches?

- Answer The PD-6WCL can be installed at any of the three locations for this 4-way lighting circuit. For ease of install, Lutron recommend installing the PD-6WCL at one of the 3-way locations. The remaining two locations will need to be replaced with Pico remotes, as well. If the mechanical switches are left in place, the PD-6WCL will not have a constant connection to power and load, therefore affecting how it operates.

QuestionWill this work for a bedroom light & fan combo? I have one rocker switch that controls the light and remote to turn the fan on and off. Could this switch control both light and fan? Thanks

- Answer Not as far as I know. It will either replace the light on/off or the fan remote but not do both. There may be another product that will replace both but this one replaces one switch.

QuestionIs this wall dimmer considered low voltage? Have this installed with track lighting. Track lights flicker at lowest setting and told dimmer needs to be low voltage. Can you confirm? Thanks.

- Answer The PD-6WCL is a line voltage dimmer. Lutron does not recommend using this dimmer on a low voltage lighting circuit. It is important to note, as well, that Lutron does not test for compatibility with third party drivers/transformers. It is suggested that you contact the manufacturer of the transformer/track lights to obtain a list of compatible dimmers for this product.

Our Caseta dimmers and switches all use an industry standard decora/decorator/Designer/paddle switch/rocker switch-style wallplate opening, and does not require the use of a Lutron wallplate. - Answer It makes no difference whether you have a neutral based or non-neutral based dimmer or switch, as long as you have the proper dimmer for your lighting fixture. As far as the on & off Caseta switches, you do not have to worry about compatibility, etc. They all perform the same whether they are neutral based or non-neutral based.
