Bought my wife a MacBook Air for school and it did her just fine. I bought MacBook Pro recently to stream. This thing is a work horse but it’s more powerful internally obviously. If you’re just gonna use it for school and music. Netflix. Etc etc grab the air. If you’re looking for more power then the pro is for you. Don’t forget to use your student discount.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought the Air originally. Then purchased the pro later on. They are both excellent computers as long as you get the M1 chip. All things considered I would recommend the MacBook Pro if you can have the extra 200.Sometimes you can find an open box or sale. You really can’t beat the Air though if you can find it for 899. The Touch Bar and overall power make the Pro the better computer. Depends on your budget and pricing at the time. I would go to store and determine if Touch Bar is something you like or can live without and also examine whether you need the extra power in the Pro. Either way you will enjoy Apple and be impressed with M1 chip I believe.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Dear MWilson, I have been used Mac and P.C.Computers for over 20 years. My presentations, I am an adjunct instructor at Indiana University Northwest, from Mac are excellent partially because a Mac is so user friendly. I do use P.C.s but prefer my Mac. I choose the 13" Mac Pro because of the price and while it mostly suits my educational needs I would've liked to be able to afford the 16"Mac Pro mainly because I like the larger screen to see two documents at the same time. I can still do this on my 13" Mac Pro, but I have found some documents are difficult to fully print the entire page. This may be just me. The Mac pros are a great deal lighter and have many options which I am still learning. If money is not a problem go with the 16" Mac Pro. I hope I have helped you make a decision. Jolene
