• You can keep your number but I thought like you I would upgrade and then this Home version does not work with my Win 10 desktop. Even with help from magicJack techs. Works with earlier windows OS.

• Yes, you can. When you purchase it, just follow the installation guide and it allows you to log in with your current or previous phone number or you can even log into your account and it will show your device, you can make changes through there but it's way easier to just do it when installing for the first time. I've done it several times.
