Item Includes Manfrotto 501PL Sliding Quick Release Plate with 1/4"-20 Screw
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is not a 'quick' release plate since there is an additional screw tightener you have the ability to use, but if you didn't tie that one tight, you can slide the base plate and camera off only having to push one button when it gets to the end.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Loosen the screw on the left and the plate that attaches to the camera will slide back and forth, but won't come out for the safety of your camera. You have to push in a button to release the plate. I find it quick to release, and the product description on Best Buy's site (likely copied from Manfrotto) states "Quick Release System: Makes mounting and unmounting the camera fast and easy." I can see how that would be hard to understand. My complaint is that unlike an older Manfrotto tripod that I have, the plate's screw (that you screw into your camera) has a slot which you have to use a screwdriver or coin or key or whatever fits to properly tighten it. My older one has a flip up handle, so no special tool is needed.
