Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes--it's simple geometry. For reference, let's call the axis that goes from the left side of the camera to the right side of the camera the X axis. For typical use (shooting horizontal(, the tripod offers pan and tilt, where if you tilt forward your lens points down, and if you tilt backward your lens will point upward. Tilting rotates the camera about its X axis. The specifications here do not indicate the tilt range, but I would expect (not a guarantee) it to be 90 degrees forward and perhaps 60 degrees back. So 90 degrees forward would have the lens pointing straight down at the ground. Now return the tilt to the 0 degree position (lens pointing straight ahead and parallel to the ground). Consider what happens if you mount the camera on the plate 90 degrees from how it was. Now install the plate such that now when you tilt, the camera rotates about the axis of the lens. If you did it correctly, tilting what was formerly 90 degrees forward now changes camera orientation from horizontal to vertical.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you can, I don't see how. You can tilt the head so the camera is looking skyward but the head doesn't rotate 90degrees so that the camera would be vertical. The manual does not show any use other than with the bottom of the camera in a horizontal plane.
