Can this be used to shoot overhead? null

I'd say most definitely! The tripod is pretty big in person (and I'm almost 6 feet tall...) and extended all the way, it actually towers over me and I have to tiptoe to reach it at times. Keeping that in mind, I think it should be more than good enough with overhead shots!
