I think a 502 has a 3/8" thread, so kinda of, if you get a ball adapter for that type of tripod or a bushing if the tripod has a 1/4" thread. I would say however, you probably want a substantial tripod with that head. You probably want at least Manfrotto 055 legs at a minimum. It also depends on how much weight your setup weighs.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Just find out what the thread for your video head is and make sure you get a tripod that supports that thread type. Most of the heavy duty heads have a 3/8-16 thread while some heads have a 1/4-20 thread. Also you can adapt a 1/4-20 to a 3/8-16 with a bushing. The manfroto 502 video head I looked up has a 3/8-16 thread.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the mount is universal to any head that will screw into it, some ball headed tripods won't work but this one isn't a ball head. However if for whatever reason it doesn't work you can return the tripod back to Best Buy, but the 502 will work.
