Hi SB, It depends a lot on the expectations of the person using the equipment. Ceiling speakers are difficult to get to work well compared with speakers which are not flush-mounted, simply because the sound flush-mounted speakers produce isn't going to be as open as speakers on the wall, or especially speakers which are free-standing. Not all 100 watt receivers are created equally. Some receivers handle difficult loads better than others. Speakers can vary significantly in how tough a load they provide for the amplification.
