Asked by Nickster.
- A:Answer Hi Nickster, I'm also trying to compare devices right now due to a past accident I was injured in, but TENS is NOT the same as EMS! TENS mostly deals with nerve pain/reducing pain that nerves pick up while EMS actually stimulates your muscles and causes them to twitch. This is why EMS devices are often pricier than TENS units. Chiropractors also have giant versions of these EMS devices in their offices. TENS treats the symptom of pain, while EMS tries to deal with muscle pain at the source. Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor, this is just stuff I learned after my car accident.
