Q: QuestionDoes the exhaust fan run every time you use the microwave? I know some models from Maytag have this feature

• A:Answer It appears to come on anytime you use the microwave. It’s noisy and I would not have purchased it if I knew it. Alll in all, pretty disappointed.

Q: Questioni have a maytag model mmv1153aab that was made in 2004, it died, if i buy a new of same model # is the mounting hardware the same???? will the new one fit the old mounting brackets?

• A:Answer The exhaust fan only comes on automatically if the unit becomes hot while your using the microwave . As it sits over our kitchen stove it will come on if I heat something on the stove for a long period of time on high heat. If your going to do that it is best to turn the fan on before it turns on automatically. If you do that, usually you can turn it off when your through cooking and not have to wait for the microwave fan to go off on it's own.

Q: QuestionI have Model MMV5165BAW -at least ten years old. Will your model MMV1175JW fit into the same space? it seems slightly wider-higher-and-deeper. IMO I don't think height or depth should be a concern -What's your take?

• A:Answer Hello! Model MMV5165BAW dimensions are Overall Depth (in) 15 1/4", Overall Height (in) 16 1/2, and Overall Width (in) 29 7/8. MMV1175JW dimensions are Depth 15 9/16", Height 17 1/8", and Width 29 15/16". Depending on your cabinets and spacing would determine if this model would work in your current space. Q: QuestionDoes this microwave have an option for recirculating vent, vise venting outside?

• A:Answer This microwave supports 2 modes, 1. Recirculate air inside room. 2. Vent air outside thought vent hole at the top on the back of oven. To change mode of operation, will need to remove fan and change the orientation. This is detailed in the install manual.
