• Yes to both questions. The basket itself is removable from the lower rack. Also, the protective sorting covers over the silverware basket is removable. It pulls outwards from the center and slides off the unit. You could either have the entire thing covered, entirely uncovered or have it half and half. Very useful. Also, the third rack for measuring cups and Tupperware lids is super convenient.

• The cover over the silver ware holder does not appear to e removable, however there are different size holes and it is unlikely it would ever need to be removed given there is the third shelf on the top for big utensils. And yes, the silver ware holder is removable and can be taken out of the washer...
