- Answer Yes all new washers have load sensing to "save water" I always use the Deep Fill option and it fills to about 3/4 full. witch is adequate. It stays on once you activate it. Unless you change wash cycles. Just look at the water level display before pushing start.

- Answer It has a rapid wash setting that is around 35 mins. for entire cycle (wash, rinse, and spin). It can be slight more or less time if you adjust the soil level and or spin speed.

- Answer Yes!! MINE has the soft-close lid and mine is this exact model (with agitator) which we just had delivered. You could double check with your store but that was one of the features I liked about this model.

QuestionThe specs say the washer is 27.5" wide and 27" deep. My door opening to my basement laundry room is 27.5" wide so my question is this: is the depth truly 27" with no protrusions of any type? If so, it would fit thru, but 27.5" width will be tight.

- Answer The specs should read 27.5" deep, 27" wide. I've got the washing machine in my home. It would be 27" X 27" but there is a metal panel on the back of the machine that sticks out 1/2".

QuestionIs 'deep fill' supposed to kick in at the start of a wash cycle, or part way thru, after the clothes have spent time agitating in a small amt. of H2O? Does this vary by chosen wash cycle? Why is 'low spin' not an option with the 'normal' wash cycle? Thx

- Answer I've had the machine less than a week, and I have no answers. Why not call Maytyag's 800-number and ask them? If anyone can give you the straight scoop about your questions, it should be them...... Meanwhile, the couple of loads we've done have seemed slower but remarkably quiet than the 40+ year old washer it replaces; it also seems to use an incredibly small amount of water compared to the old one. After you see how well this thing works, your questions might just go away!

- Answer I was playing with the machine at the store and the regular cycle is about 54 minutes as long as you don't make any additional selections, else it can go into the 1 hour and 10min or so.

- Answer My preference is an agitator. The washer is very deep and holds way more than I would have expected. Much more than my previous washer and it was designed for heavy duty washing & larger items.

QuestionWill the lid on this washer open after it "clicks"? In other words, can I add a dropped sock during the wash cycle?

- Answer To open the lid after it clicks and the indicator light for "locked" turns on, you press the pause button. After a moment, there will be another click and the indicator light for "locked" will turn off. You can then safely open the door and throw something else in. When you close the lid again, press and hold the pause button to relock the lid and continue the wash cycle.

- Answer If our previous model (a Sears purchase, 9 yrs ago), is any guide, this washer is much quieter. If the Sears model was an 8 (loud), this would be a 4. And the auditory cues it gives at start and finish are much better then the loud buzz the old model used as a signal.

QuestionIs there a place to pre-fill the machine with fabric softener?

- Answer Yes, there is a tray with three separate compartments within the machine. Once you lift the lid, a tray slides out and there's a spot for softener, detergent and 'OXI'. I've used the fabric softener compartment once. It seemed to release the fabric softener almost as soon as I poured it into the tray and shut it. Not sure why they wouldn't have you put the softener directly on the clothes as that's what the tray seemed to do.

QuestionDoes this machine have a rinse cycle? Is there a way to turn it on to have a rinse cycle only? I do not want to run a full load I need to rinse out some things prior to washing.

- Answer USE THE DRAIN AND SPIN CYCLE AND THE EXTRA RINSE CYCLE AT THE SAME TIME TO DO WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO DO. I DO IT ALL THE TIME.

QuestionAt times the oxi additive does not get released into the washer although the "oxi" option is chosen. Any tips to prevent this? There is a "push" lever in the oxi (and softener) compartment but doesn't seem to do anything and nothing about in the manual.

- Answer The push levers are to remove the tray. Push both down and pull the entire tray out.

- Answer I always only pour in the washer and not the slot for it. Water drain place selector or rinse cycle and see if it drains. If not pray you bought the warranty have have them replace.

- Answer This is our 1st HE washer.Its a different experience. We haven't been using it 2 months yet.The sounds it makes is like nothing your use to,not loud just different. There are not alot of choices for washers with agitators, but it seems to clean the clothes just fine.So far i am happy with the machine.

- Answer It comes out wrinkled which goes a way after you dry the clothes. I am use to front load washer with no wrinkles. However the clothes are not heavy feeling in the dryer and feels softer afterwards.
