If you are super worried about the clothes, just put that setting on low. You have the ability to adjust temperature, spin speed, and agitator speed.

I always have to use maximum fill setting, and use deep wash, High soil level and every other thing I can and STILL I have an issue with white spots on navy or black clothing.

So, a direct answer to your question is: 1) No, the washer is not designed to use "regular detergent" --it is designed to use "High Efficiency" detergent. and 2) Users should look for detergent in a container marked "HE" or "High Efficiency". 3) The detergent does not need to be marked with the (GE) symbol. A:AnswerYes all new washers have load sensing to "save water" I always use the Deep Fill option and it fills to about 3/4 full. witch is adequate. It stays on once you activate it. Unless you change wash cycles. Just look at the water level display before pushing start.

Meanwhile, the couple of loads we've done have seemed slower but remarkably quiet than the 40+ year old washer it replaces; it also seems to use an incredibly small amount of water compared to the old one. After you see how well this thing works, your questions might just go away!

hear a click, the basket will make a slight turn, and the lid will
unlock briefly before locking again.

After a moment, there will be another click and the indicator light for "locked" will turn off. You can then safely open the door and throw something else in. A:AnswerYes, there is a tray with three separate compartments within the machine. Once you lift the lid, a tray slides out and there's a spot for softener, detergent and 'OXI'. I've used the fabric softener compartment once. It seemed to release the fabric softener almost as soon as I poured it into the tray and shut it. Not sure why they wouldn't have you put the softener directly on the clothes as that's what the tray seemed to do.
