Hi, Red! I think it's all about "COST". In physical version, McAfee needs to produce cardboard boxes and print the product key, then ship to retail stores within US. McAfee also needs to return these unsold products back to their warehouses. In digital version, all of these production and shipping process will be omitted. Similar with music albums. Hope this help!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Promotional pricing is set by the retailer, Best Buy and I am a McAfee employee. Digital and Physical versions are usually set to the same price, but they aren't the same SKU so Best Buy has the option to set prices independently. There is no actual difference in the product. Both have a download code which you must take to https://www.mcafee.com/activate to redeem. With the digital product, you receive an email with the code within a couple of hours. With the physical, you need to pick it up in store or have it mailed to you, but it has a card inside with the download code printed on it and you must still go to the activate site to redeem it. Normally I would recommend the digital version since you receive your code much sooner, but if it's cheaper for the physical right now, that is probably the better option. Please let me know if I can help further.
