• Did not hookup my ground wire and it still worked just fine no more winding sound.

• A lot of times if you don't use ground wires the system will not work. The after market radios and amplifiers need to be grounded.

• Yes the ground wires make a difference and you need to connect both of them to ground ( 1 is for the left and 1 is for the right ) or the isolator will not work correctly. The connection is depicted in the photo.
