Honestly no unless you want that specific pre order item which most times suck anyways. Other than that if you’re thinking you’re going to get a copy on the day off you might be disappointed since they tend to run out even though you’ve pre ordered it.

In fact there is a benefit to waiting because a lot of 1st party Nintendo published games usually get revision reprints that contain the latest patches on the cartridges. As of the time of this reply there are literally 5 revisions of Metroid Dread out in retail beginning with 000-004, 004 being the most complete revision containing the final update on the cartridge making 004 the most complete version of the game. Problem is it is impossible to know wjich revision you get because some physical copies do not have that i formation printed on the back of the case and Metrois Dread is one of them. Other games, like ARMS for example, do have that information printed on the back of the case. Hope this helps.
