If you want Office 365 then you do need to purchase it. Office is a suite of productivity products like Word and Excel and PowerPoint. Office 365 also comes with 1 TB of OneDrive cloud storage and other perks.

You do not have to purchase this. I purchased it because I needed Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook,and Powerpoint programs. I also wanted the OneDrive cloud storage . These programs will work on more than one device, as does the OneDrive which makes accessing files almost effortless. Mine came with free minutes on Skype as well. Depending on what type of device you are purchasing and what you plan to use it for, Office 365 can be pretty handy! I use Word, Excel and Powerpoint for work. The OneDrive is perfect for work and personal files. Hope this helps!
