Product keys are region locked. Meaning, whatever country you purchase Office from, you will also need to install and activate Office within that country before using it internationally. If you don't, Office will not work.

It is not a requirement to establish a Microsoft account for a Live sign in, you can do an offline local sign in just fine. Same thing with Lenovo product registration I recommend it but it is not required. And as long as you have internet access no matter where you are you could go set up a Microsoft account and register and connect to Lenovo account as well. It doesn't really matter where you're doing it from as long as you're online.
