It really depends on what your definition of "fast" is. Using the internet for research and banging out documents in Word has been a breeze for me on this device, but if you use any other programs that hog a lot of the processor, you might be disappointed. Getting the version with more RAM will definitely keep things running more smoothly regardless, though. Ultimately, the decision to get this device should rest on whether or not you're willing to sacrifice a larger keyboard. I'm typing this answer on my Surface Go's keyboard right now, and even with my bigger hands, I have no problems with the small form factor; however, you might feel it to be a bit too small if you're trying to write a research paper or something of that nature. If you're looking for something a little bit bigger but with a similar form factor, I 100% recommend you take a closer look at the Surface Pro line. With that said, you should definitely visit Best Buy or a Microsoft Store to get your hands on these devices before making your decision. Best of luck!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it is, my wife uses it for college and it has the same quality and speed as a normal computer. No lags or nothing crazy like that, you can open multiple tabs for your research and you will still have no lags.
