• I'm using it right now without an issue, so it might not be compatible with the surface pro 7, but for the pro 8 is working for me.

• Yes. The keyboard is only compatible with Surface Pro X and Surface Pro 8 devices (sold separately). I use it with my Surface Pro 8 (BTW SP8 only comes in one size display -13")
