The MS outreach team responded to my question- but I'm certain it was wrong. You can't upgrade Vista or XP to W10. It must be a "clean install" which wipes out everthing- at least installed software, but maybe it allows saving created files. If it could be an upgrade, I'd do it- otherwise, probably not. Joe
