Yes, I have done this multiple times. Just follow the directions and answer the questions at the start.

No operating install is easy for the computer illiterate! If you are not comfortable it would be better to have it upgraded and installed for you. Also it will be important to ensure your laptop meets the minimum requirements for Windows 10 before purchasing.

Yes, you should be able to simply plug the USB in and follow the prompts.
