• Grandson crashed hard drive, so I bought him a new one and the Windows 8.1 and he loaded and it worked. So if operating system is on hard drive then yes, but I hate to recommend in case I am wrong and he got lucky.

• Yes it can! It is a new OS with #'s. Use it on a fresh or old install!

• Yes--it is a single license version of windows. As long as your system meets the specifications for the software, it will install.

• You need the proper hardware for this to work just like previous operating systems... Research before you buy and install.
