Yes, the Wireless Display Adapter does not need any additional cables since it uses Wi-Fi to cast your display from your device. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes that’s true. It does work. Two cautions though. 1. You need a 5 volt powered USB port on you monitor. If not available, then you can plug into any powered usb source including a cell phone charger. I used an iPhone charger plugged in nearby. 2. As a for the HDMI, I plugged into an older Visio 40” TV and an older Visio 70”. Neither have powered USB ports. Worked. 3. I also used an brand new HP laptop. It has this ability to connect. A friend of mine with 4 yr old laptop cannot connect. Better check with Geek desk to see if your laptop connection is possible.
