One adapter is usb and the other is hdmi. As long as the source has a Usb input and the projector has hdmi input, you are good to go. You don't need a Microsoft product to make it work.

It may be possible to use a converter to get there... 2. You need some sort of USB charger to power the adapter. Most newer TV's have both HDMI and a USB port. But you can use an external USB port. The cable on the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter is very short, maybe only 4 or 5 inches. So you may need a USB extension cable. There are many places to get this. You can get a 10 foot one for $10. Alternately you could use a power bank. I've used all 3 methods: USB on the TV (or projector), USB brick and extension cable, and a power bank. 3. This only works with Windows 10 operating system. It's easy to use, works surprisingly well, transmits video and audio, is very small, and for all that has become part of my standard gear in my computer bag. Specifications say you must be less than 30 feet away but I've used it successfully more than twice that distance. For Apple machines there's Apple TV and for Windows 10 there's the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter. I can't compare the two since I've never used Apple TV.. Our church also has one going into an overhead projector. We use it during Sunday school with a 2-in-1 "Built for Windows Ink" laptop laying flat on the podium, Wacom Bamboo digital pen, and Microsoft Onenote (comes free with Windows 10). This system makes a great electronic whiteboard. You could also use a similar system as a virtual whiteboard. (just google that) Now our congregation can actually /see/ the whiteboard during Bible study! It works very well! If it doesn't work for you remember that Best buy has a good return policy. Bring it back into the store for a refund. Take care to keep the box and anything inside it. Edro
