Hello and thank you for reaching out. The MobiCam requires a consistent connection to a power source in order to operate. As long as the device is plugged in it is on and surveilling. Once the device is unplugged (removed from the power source), it will no longer operate as designed. It doesn't have a rechargeable battery.
