“Are any damages done to the phone due to case incompetence covered? The case chipped at the bottom corners with a fall and allowed damage done to the phone. Isn't that what cases are suppose to keep from happening?”

No. Cases are of minimal protection unless you spring for an OtterBox or some other heavy-duty case. Even then, there is no guarantee of serviceability with a case unless it states that it has specific protection and/or liability coverage. Cases are generally for show or to keep the phone from getting banged around in a purse, a pocket, or the center console of a car. I don't want to harp at you, but a cellphone is probably the third most expensive item you'll ever own in your life (after a house and a car). Take better care of it - phones are glass and electronics packed into less than 1/2 an inch of thickness. What do you expect will happen when you drop it?
