• A:Answer Hello Insert 1, Thank you for your question. Yes, if your fireplace insert goes bad, you can purchase a new one. Unfortunately, at this time none of our fireplace inserts come with a remote. We do not suggest buying a fireplace insert that might fit from somewhere else. That would be modifying the unit and voiding the warranty of the unit. Thanks again,

• A:Answer Hi! The dimensions of the electric fireplace insert are 20" W x 4" D x 18" H. Walker Edison is the brand. This does not come with a remote, however it's very easy to operate. It has two switches on the face of the unit that allow you to control the heat and flames independently of one another. It heats at 89.6 degrees and will head up to 400 square feet. It's a simple plug-in unit, so no installation required other than the assembly of the stand itself. Minimal maintenance would be necessary, such as dusting to keep vents clean and checking cords for frayed wires. We hope that helps with your decision! Let us know if you have any other questions.
