It does sound like it's broken. Mine works great! It just took a little longer to charge the first time.

If the lights are on its charged. Check your phone cord and make sure it it not the problem. If the cord works in another charger then you might have defective units. Mine has worked just fine since it's purchase a couple of months ago.
